JVC VHS-C CameraMy very first camera was a very sturdy camera. I have owned and operated a lot of cameras and despite being dropped, kicked, and even thrown, this VHS-C camera still works to this day Specs Resoltion: 720x480 Framerate: 30fps Storage: Analogue-VHS-C (60 minutes) |

Digital Blue CameraMy first digital camera was just awful, but it, along with the basic editing software it came with, is what got me into filmmaking. My first phone with video shot better quality. The worst part was that if the battery died, all the footage was lost. Specs Resoltion: 320x240 Framerate: 15fps Storage: Digital-Internal HD ~2minutes
Sharp Digital CameraI got my first real digital camera in 2003. It look more like a picture camera than a camcorder. The drawback to the only screen being on the body was when I cracked the screen, the camera was practically unusable. Once the screen was repaired, The tape-deck eventually gave out. Specs Resoltion: 720x480 Framerate: 29.97fps Storage: Digital-Mini-DV 60-90 minutes
Canon GL2The Canon GL2 was Great camera and most of everything I ever shot was on this camera. I used it for years and even had an extreme wide-angle (fish-eye) lens for it. Eventually however the tape-deck began to wear out and even after paying to get it repaired, it no longer records to tape. Specs Resoltion: 720x480 Framerate: 29.97fps Storage: Digital-Mini-DV 60-90 minutes
JVC HD 110UAfter saving up (and mostly school loans) I bought my first HD camera. It is a great camera despite still using mini-Dv which is notorious for their tape deck breaking. I also got a 60GB Firestore HD to capture straight to digital. It made my GL2 usable once again as well. Specs Resoltion: 1280x720(p) 1920x1080(i) Framerate: 29.97fps Storage: Digital-Mini-DV 60-90 minutes
Canon T2iThe T2i Digital SLR was released and I would finally not have to choose between having a good picture and video camera. It was a great camera capturing at higher resolution than my JVC at roughly a quarter of the price. Specs Resoltion: 1280x720(p) 1920x1080(p) Framerate: 29.97, 30, & 60fps Storage: Digital-16GB SD Card ~50 minutes |
